Entering
the United States
Normally,
foreign travelers must possess a passport and U.S. Visitor Visa (B-1).
Twenty-six countries are currently participating in the Visa Waiver Pilot
Program (including Australia, France, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Japan)
and do not require a Visa for visits under 90 days. Visa applications
are processed through the American Embassy or Consulate in one's country
of residence. Applicants may submit the GSC-5/RAST-8 invitation
as documentation for purpose of travel.

Reagan Washington National Airport (Washington, DC) are located 241
kilometers (150 miles - 3 hours by car) north of Williamsburg. There
is Amtrak train service from Union
Station in downtown Washington, DC, to Williamsburg.

provide rental car service, shuttle service, limousine service, and taxi
service.

Registration
The registration
table for the GSC-5/RAST-8 meeting will be open Sunday, August 22, from
1300-1700 hours, and Monday, August 23, from 0700-1300 hours.
Upon registration,
attendees will receive a name badge, CD-ROM containing the meeting agendas
and all documents, along with information brochures on local area tourist
attractions.

and Software
Guestrooms
are equipped with a 2-line telephone, voicemail, and a data port. International
telephone service is available from all hotel rooms and all charges will
either be billed to your room account or, if your service provider provides
access within the USA, billing may be rendered by your service provider.
Normally, telephone service billed directly from a service provider is
less expensive than services billed by the hotel to you room account.

Attire
Typical casual dress for men is slacks (trousers) and
a collared shirt (no jacket or tie). Casual dress for women is slacks
and a blouse or a simple linen or cotton dress.
Business attire is expected only for the Monday and Wednesday
evening dinners.

Climate
The summer season in the Williamsburg area is hot and
humid. The average high temperature for August in Williamsburg is
30° C (87°F); the average low is 18°C (65°F).
Credit Cards and Currency
The hotel, restaurants, and most tour sites accept the
following major credit cards: VISA, American Express, MasterCard.
Please check your credit cards to verify they are affiliated with these
brands (for example, the Eurocard is a MasterCard affiliate). Travelers'
Checks written in USD ($) denominations are also accepted at many locations.
Cash in USD ($) will be needed for purchases at the café

Crestar Bank is the ONLY bank in the Williamsburg
area that provides currency exchange for a limited number of foreign currencies.
Norfolk International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport,
