Long Term Evolution or LTE has been heralded as the next generation in wireless communications.  Enabling maximum theoretical downlink speeds rivaling today’s fastest facilities-based solutions, LTE will enable a fundamentally different wireless broadband experience.  Indeed, with global wireless data traffic predicted to surpass 3,000 petabytes by 2012, faster speeds and more robust networks will be necessary

ATIS’ LTE track will examine the technology’s inherent opportunities, and what this paradigm-shift in capacity means to the larger communications ecosystem. Featuring both Business and Standards-focused sessions, programming will provide value to both commercial and technically-minded attendees.

For the more business-minded attendees, sessions will explore:

• LTE’s implications on intellectual property rights
• Voice service over LTE networks
• How widespread LTE deployment in the 700MHz band will impact larger industry

More technically-minded sessions will feature:

• 3GPP’s assessment of LTE’s current standardization state and increasing economies of scale
• A discussion of increasing global demand for ultra-high-capacity mobile broadband
• An examination of how LTE will potentially spur widespread femtocell adoption.
