As the telecommunications industry seeks to converge services onto a common core network, users are simultaneously looking to seamlessly access these services via the different networks served by the common core. The ATIS IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) has been a leader in the development of standards that enable this paradigm.
During this session, two areas of the Content on Demand (COD) service will be examined: what will be required for COD to be robust service offering, and how a single architecture effectively addresses issues associated with multiple access networks and users' inherent mobility. Discussion will also be held on the concepts of a variety of devices being supported and session continuity from one type of network using a particular class of devices to another type of network using different devices.
