George Nazi is the Managing Director responsible for all aspects of BT’s 21st Century Network transformation programme (21CN), as well as the business’ global networks and platforms. BT's 21CN is widely regarded as the communications industry’s leading next generation network implementation and the foundation of BT's transformation into a global, software-driven communications business and is central to BT's ambition to provide customers with choice and a range of new advanced services delivered as software applications over a common, all IP infrastructure. George leads a team of more than 3000 professionals that spans Network Architecture, Engineering, Planning and Implementation and leads interaction between the programme and BT’s operational and commercial business units. George is a senior telecommunications industry executive with over fifteen years experience in managing global network engineering and operations, as well as mergers, acquisitions and new business start ups. Most recently, George was responsible for the build of BT’s global IP/MPLS network across 170 countries. Before BT, George has held executive positions with WorldCom and Level 3 where he led the integration of many of their acquisitions, along with senior Engineering and Planning roles. He also founded of a CLEC in the USA in 1998 targeting small to medium size businesses to support them in optimizing their networks and reducing their costs. George received his masters degree in Electrical Enineering. and Computer Science from Tulsa University.
